Bee Charmer
02:51
|
|||
The fury of the bee charmer
is masked by a worrisome gaze
she sits all the day
and she watches them play
She thinks sometimes about marriage
but she knows at least bees never stray
she sits all the day
and she watches them mate
So lost in the world she creates
trapped deep in her honeycomb gates
Oh my pretties
you'd never lie to me
oh my darlings
I'll never set you
free
The terror of the bee charmer
is masked by brazen displays
reaching with her bare hands
only drones understand
how she waits
and she waits
and she waits
trapped deep in her honeycomb gates

Someone (Without You)
04:20
|
|||
On that day he told me that I wouldn't be gone long
that I could not be on my own that I'd run back to his arms
and when it comes to worrying I have won the crown
but my ever heavy hanging head is lighter when you're not around
my wit my charm my intellect the thing i want to do
oh how could i forget the fact that I'm someone without you
and tomorrow morning I'm the first one on the train
I'll go in search of my new life and i'll find myself again
I could go to Vegas and I could get myself ordained
I'd dress myself like Elvis and marry at the lowest rates
or I could write a novel just like Hemingway or Stein
It might not be very good but won't know until I try
Or I could go to New York and get my own talk show
I'd have Bill Murray as my guest and discuss his latest role
and I like being by myself it's something I forgot
I went out for company and that's just what I got
at first you seemed a savior to my solitary moor
but when you let the wrong one in you're more lonesome than before
your rapaciousness your avarice your impatience and your blues
you made me feel like I was wrong like nothing without you

Strange Day
02:00
|
|||
Oh the birds they were singing
how odd the sound
but the winter was melting
and the birds were home bound
what a strange day
And the flowers were blooming
as they so often do
and I knew soon the bees
would be humming in tune
what a strange day
And I felt my heart beating
as I waited in line
and I felt my heart sink
when I saw it was time
I bent on the pew
set before where you lay
and I kissed your cheek
I left a lip stick stain
So I got in my car
and I went home
but I could only think
of the birds as I drove
what a strange day
Then the kettle was singing
and the phone it rang
and I answered despite
knowing not what to say
So I picked up the call
and could think of nothing except
I had a strange day
